Scientific name: Sepia Pharaonis;cuttlefish species that can be found west of the Indian Ocean between the Red Sea area and the Persian Gulf. It can reach up to 42 cm in lenght and 5 kg in weight.
Origin: India.
Fishing Zone: FAO zone 51. It is located in the Indian Ocean and extends froms the east coast of India to the east coast of Africa, reaching the meridian 45 south. This area in turn is divided into eight sub-zones.
Presentation: 2 kg block. The cleaned cuttlefish block,unlike IQF cuttlefish, is presented in a compact frozen 2 kg block.
Size:
The cleaned cuttlefish block sizes are varied and they can range from largest size U1, up to UP60.
U1 is equivalent to one piece of frozen cuttlefish per kilo.
1/2 equals one or two pieces of frozen cuttlefish per kilo.
2/4 contains two to four pieces of frozen cuttlefish per kilo.
5/7 contains five to seven pieces of frozen cuttlefish per kilo.
8/12 contains eight to twelve pieces of frozen cuttlefish per kilo.
13/20 contains thirteen to twenty pieces of frozen cuttlefish per kilo.
20/40 contains twenty to forty pieces of frozen cuttlefish per kilo.
40/60 contains forty to sixty pieces of frozen cuttlefish per kilo.
60 UP contains about 60 pieces of frozen cuttlefish per kilo.

Glaze: The glaze corresponds to the amount of water contained in the frozen products. This glaze varies depending on the products and the type of freezing. In Torry Harris we prefer transparency and the glaze always adjusts to reality.
Box: The cleaned cuttlefish block box, corresponds to a box of 20 kg, since the block products are heavier boxes.
Palletized: We always work with a European pallet, which has measures of 80 x 12 x 14.4 cm. When palletizing, we seek to maximize it for transport, reaching 1.90 m in height.
